RE: Bisexual Women
I just read a very interesting article on this topic and
felt compelled to weigh in on it because of how well written
it was. Those who have read my replies/articles before
know how "detailed" and somewhat lengthy I
can be, but hey, you asked for comments so be careful what
you wish for next time!
LOL :D
Now, in truth, I've been thinking about this bisexual
issue quite a bit, so much so that I THOUGHT about writing
an article on it myself, I guess this'll have to do...lol
But, I think the answer is a little bit of everything. Is
it a fad propetiuated by the media? Definatly...look at
the movies that got a lot of buzz over the last five-six years,
Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Geller in Cruel Intentions
making out, or Wild Things. What was everyone talking abot
at the MTV Music Awards last year? Madonna, Christina,
and Britney's "mutual moment." The designer
ads like A&F and how suggestive they are...people
DO tend to imulate what they see whether we like to admit
it or not.
Is it something that's always been there? That's
true as well, there have always been straight, gay, lesbian,
and bi people among us, Alexander The Great was even believed
to be bisexual, (It's said that when his best "friend"
and aide was killed in a battle with the Persians, that Alexander
wept in his tent day and night nonstop for three days!)and
many Roman Emperors and their wives had same sex lovers.
Is it becoming more open? Sure. More and more women are feeling
liberated with their sexual fantasies and desires, more
women are looking at Adult magazines and videos, seeing
scenarios played out, like a woman having raunchy unihibited
sex with a female friend and/or coworker. Maybe they themselves
have always had this fantasy, maybe they like the idea of
acting it out because it's her male lover's dream
and that's her turnon, or maybe they're discovering
this inner lust for the first time. In any case, it certainly
has become easier to express these "forbidden"
fantasies.
But in addition to these factors, I'd like to add another
one. I think part of the reason more and more women are are
pursuing other woman is because of the failures of us menfolk.
Yep, that's what I said. On one hand, I think some women
are now more "manly" i.e. assertive than some
men, because most of us men have become TOO sensative, TOO
accomidating to women, even at the expense of personal
wishes we should stand up to our lovers for. There is such
a thing as good agressiveness/assertivess, every man
needs a least a small teaspoon of an independent domminating
streak in his diet.
On the other hand, there are the other men who don't
know how to behave in the bedroom...they try to re-live
every guy-girl ramroding they've ever seen in a porno
every single time, going way too fast, to the point she didn't
have time to enjoy it. I'm sure it's fun to "do
it like the Discovery Channel" sometimes, but I'm
also sure it gets old too. I think for some women, the draw
of making love with another woman is the idea of slower,
more patient sex, sensual, a lover who knows EXACTLY what
she wants and how to go about it, because the lover's
a she and wants the same things. Heck, that's what even
a guy like me find appealing about "girls nights!"
I think most women who are wanting other women are truly
bisexual, or even a lesbian in denial, but for that smaller
minority that are just curious, the key is to know why she
as a woman is having these feelings, and to find the best
balance you can.
