RE: Sex, Dreams, and a woman I know....

No harm in going out and being social, and strengthening
what you have already (friendship). But were it me, I would
draw a very definite line between friendship and romance
where you work. Speaking from experience here, I had a failed
relationship that just would not end - the girl that I had
a brief romance with fell hopelessly in love and it became
almost a Fatal Attraction thing. She even followed me to
a subsequent employer, but by the time we both got there,
we could not even communicate - and we had to, to get our jobs
done. We managed that difficult situation for some time,
and the end of it came when I got a pink slip during downsizing.
I was never glad to be laid off until then.

My personal take? Stay away from intimate relationships
at work. If they work out, swell. But if they fail, there
is a tension in your work environment that quite possibly
will never go away. Take in the context of where you work,
too - I mean, if you're flipping burgers at McDonald's,
it's a pretty sure bet that you can find similar employment
elsewhere. But if you care about your career, don't
jeopardize it.
